Our Story: From Backyard Passion to Wisconsin's Premier BBQ Caterer
Slo' Motion BBQ was founded in 2019 by Adam Gegare in a backyard in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. After a 21-year career, Adam took a leap of faith to pursue his passion for authentic wood-fired barbecue and serving the community. What started as a small operation quickly grew into one of Wisconsin's most trusted BBQ catering companies.
In 2020, during the pandemic, we adapted and continued serving Wisconsin families through pickup and delivery catering, maintaining our commitment to bringing people together through great food even during challenging times. By 2021, we had catered our 100th wedding and established ourselves as specialists in wedding catering across Wisconsin.
In 2023, we surpassed 200 weddings catered and expanded our reach throughout Southeastern Wisconsin and Northeastern Illinois. In 2025, we welcomed Gary Plassmeyer as a business partner, bringing additional expertise to help us serve even more Wisconsin families and businesses.
Today, operating from our Sussex, Wisconsin location, we continue to grow while maintaining the same authenticity and personal service that defined our beginning. Every event receives the same care and attention we gave to our very first catering job.

Unlike many BBQ caterers who use gas or electric smokers, Slo' Motion BBQ smokes all meats using 100% Wisconsin Oak. No shortcuts, no liquid smoke, no artificial flavors. Every brisket gets 12-14 hours in our smokers at 225°F. This traditional smoking method produces the authentic bark and flavor that Wisconsin BBQ is known for.
No MSG, No Artificial Ingredients
All of our recipes are made from scratch without MSG or artificial ingredients. We believe great BBQ comes from quality ingredients and proper technique, not chemical shortcuts.
