Terms of Service | Slo' Motion BBQ
Slo' Motion BBQ delivers authentic Wisconsin barbecue, crafted with locally sourced oak and a passion for community. These Terms of Service govern all orders, including food, sauces, seasonings, apparel, and catering services (Full-Service, Food Trailer, Pickup and Delivery). 1. Food, Seasonings, and Sauces
Order Processing
- Freshness and Shipping: All meat is freshly prepared and properly cooled for safe shipping. Depending on the season, meat may be frozen to ensure quality.
- Processing Time: Standard online and phone orders require 3–5 business days for processing before shipping. If an item is unavailable, our customer service team will contact you within 2 business days to discuss substitution or back-order options.
Shipping and Delivery
- Shipping Time: Shipping typically takes 3–4 business days within the contiguous USA. Delays may occur due to supply chain, carrier issues, weather, or holidays.
- Tracking: A tracking link is provided via email upon shipment. For inquiries, contact orders@slomotionbbq.com.
- Delivery Issues: If your order hasn't arrived as expected:
- Check the tracking link in your email.
- Verify the shipping address in your confirmation email.
- Check with your local post office or neighbors for misplaced packages.
- Contact orders@slomotionbbq.com with your order number. If the address was incorrect, replacement orders are shipped at the customer's cost.
2. Apparel and Merchandise
Order Fulfillment
- Processing Time: Apparel orders take 3–7 business days to fulfill before shipping. Delays may occur due to supply chain constraints.
- Shipping Origin: We partner with a global on-demand fulfillment company, and orders may ship from various facilities worldwide.
- Shipping Time: USA delivery takes 2–4 business days after fulfillment. Contact orders@slomotionbbq.com for international estimates.
3. Catering Services
Slo' Motion BBQ offers Full-Service Catering (including Whole Hog Roasts), Food Trailer Catering, and Pickup and Delivery Catering, delivering authentic Wisconsin barbecue. The following terms apply to all catering agreements.
Order Requirements
- Minimum Guest Count: A minimum of 15 guests is required for all catering orders, we can accommodate smaller orders on busier days of the week.
- Notice Period: We require 7 business days' notice for all catering orders. For last-minute requests, contact orders@slomotionbbq.com or call 262-822-1402, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
- Guest Count: An approximate guest count is required at booking. A final count must be provided 7 days prior to the event; if not provided, the original estimate is used. No refunds are provided for cancellations after the final count is established. The Host ensures all necessary vendors are included in the count.
Payment Terms
- Deposit: A non-refundable deposit is required at booking to secure the event date. If the Host reschedules, a credit for the deposit amount may be issued within 14 days for use within 6 months, subject to availability. No refunds are provided.

- Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the event (7 days for Food Trailer Catering), based on the guaranteed or actual guest count, whichever is greater. Payments are non-refundable upon cancellation by the Host.
- Methods: Payments are accepted via cash, check, or credit card. No surcharges apply for credit card payments, except for public events where a surcharge may be added, disclosed at booking.
- Sales Tax: A 5% Wisconsin sales tax, plus any applicable county tax, is added to all catering orders. Tax-exempt organizations must provide WI Form S-211 at inquiry, including name, address, exemption reason, Certificate of Exempt Status (CES) ID, purchase description, and authorized signature.
- Price Adjustment: Prices may change due to commodity fluctuations unless secured with a signed invoice and deposit. Quotes are valid for 24 hours.
Cancellation Policy
- Host Cancellations: Deposits and payments are non-refundable if the Host cancels, due to preparation costs. Notify cancellations in writing to orders@slomotionbbq.com.
- Slo' Motion BBQ Cancellations: If we cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund is issued within 14 business days.
- Rescheduling: For weather or venue issues, we'll reschedule within 6 months, subject to a $150 fee and ingredient cost adjustments.
Full-Service Catering (Including Whole Hog Roasts)
- Service Description: Includes buffet setup with branded linens, professional chafing pans, table dismissal, food replenishment, bussing, and cleanup. Provides 4 oz of each meat and side, plus slo'slaw, corn muffins, slider buns, sauce, plates, utensil rolls, napkins, and a menu board. Additional meats/sides can be added. Whole Hog Roasts include onsite roasting for events like weddings or corporate gatherings.
- Dinnerware Options: Choose one at no cost: heavy-duty 3-compartment paper plate, silver trim disposable china, or gold trim disposable china. Includes napkins and plasticware (fork, knife). Partial provision (e.g., plates only) is not available; if Host provides own dinnerware, no discount applies.
- Deposit: For events booked more than 12 months in advance, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required. For 12 months or less, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required.
- Service Charge: A 20% service charge is added. Additional gratuity is optional. Additional time or staff incurs a $90/hour/employee charge, agreed in writing.
- Food Minimum:
- Monday–Thursday: No minimum.
- Friday–Sunday: $2,750, regardless of plate count.
- Holidays: $4,500 on Easter Weekend (Saturday–Sunday), Memorial Day Weekend (Friday–Monday), Independence Day (July 3–4), Labor Day Weekend (Friday–Monday), Thanksgiving Weekend (Thursday–Sunday).
- Additional Services: Appetizers, beverages, water service, and desserts available.
- Delivery and Travel: No delivery fee within 20 miles of Sussex, WI; $6/mile one-way beyond 20 miles.
- Price Adjustments: For events booked over 12 months in advance, prices may increase by up to 10%, communicated 90 days prior.
- Guaranteed Guest Count: Minimum of 90% of the estimated count provided 90 days prior. Final payment is based on the greater of actual or guaranteed count.
- End of Service: Team requires 30 minutes to pack up and clean.
Food Trailer Catering
- Service Description: Mobile food trailer for weddings, corporate events, private parties, fundraisers, or sporting events. Includes food service without Host managing trays or cleanup. Provides 5–6 oz meat, 4–8 oz sides (1 meat, 1 side option). Additional options (e.g., 2 meats, 3 sides) recommended for variety. For public events, employees may purchase food directly if the business guarantees minimums, with a potential credit card surcharge disclosed at booking.
- Setup Requirements: Host provides 50 ft x 10 ft flat, solid surface, turn radius, parking access, and power (if needed). A quiet generator is used unless no noise is required. Slo' Motion BBQ is not responsible for property damage from Host-provided parking recommendations. Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be requested at booking.
- Deposit: A $250 non-refundable trailer fee/deposit is required at booking. Menu selection and remaining balance are due 7 days prior.
- Service Duration: Up to 2 hours, with $90/hour for additional time, agreed in writing.
- Food Minimum:
- Tuesday–Thursday: 50 people — $800.
- Friday: $1,200.
- Saturday–Sunday: $2,500.
- Holidays: $4,000 on Easter Weekend (Saturday–Sunday), Memorial Day Weekend (Friday–Monday), Independence Day (July 3–4), Labor Day Weekend (Friday–Monday), Thanksgiving Weekend (Thursday–Sunday).
- Additional Services: Appetizers, beverages, water service, and desserts available.
- Gratuity: Optional.
- Delivery and Travel: No fee within 20 miles of Sussex, WI; $6/mile one-way beyond.
- Food Quantities: Sufficient for average consumption. Specific items (e.g., brisket) may run out with multiple options. Preorders recommended to minimize shortages.
- Leftovers: Hosts may retain leftovers for a $50 fee, placed in labeled disposable pans. Host assumes liability for quality, care, and safety, indemnifying Slo' Motion BBQ from any claims, suits, or liabilities related to leftover consumption.
- End of Service: Team requires 15 minutes to clean and pack up, checking out with primary/secondary contact or venue manager.
- Credit Card Disclaimer: While we do not charge a credit card usage fee for catering orders, we do charge a credit card usage/convenience fee during public events. This includes, credit, debit, and all other forms of electronic payment types.
Pickup and Delivery Catering
- Minimum Guest Count:
- 15–39 Guests: Pickup at Sussex, WI, with minimum based on guest count and menu selection.
- 40+ Guests: Delivery available, subject to availability.
- 60+ Guests: Delivery and guest service available, subject to availability.
- Service Terms:
- A la Carte Catering: Pre-order specific quantities with 7 days' notice. Minimums apply based on menu selection.
- Catering Package: Includes 5 oz of meat per person, 3–6 oz side per person, corn muffins, slider buns, sauce, plates, utensils, napkins.
- Contactless Delivery: Minimal/no contact delivery via third-party or Slo' Motion BBQ. Third-party details required. $50 delivery fee + 10% service charge within 20 miles; $6/mile beyond.
- Delivery: Food delivery and setup. $50 fee + 10% service charge within 20 miles; $6/mile beyond.
- Guest Service: Delivery, setup, and food management for event duration (1 hour, 1 staff). Additional staff/time at $90/hour/staff. $50 fee + 20% service charge within 20 miles; $6/mile beyond.
- Additional Services: Appetizers, beverages, water service, and desserts available.
- Deposit: 50% non-refundable deposit required at booking.
- Package Inclusions: 5 oz meat, 3–6 oz sides per person, sauce cup, slider buns, paper plates, utensil rolls.
Food and Beverage Policies (Applies to All Catering Types)
- Dietary Restrictions and Allergen Notice: Slo' Motion BBQ is not an allergen-free facility, and shared equipment may cause cross-contamination. We cannot guarantee allergen-free products. Menu excludes crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, and sesame, but may include dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, and fish. Guests must inform us of allergies at booking to discuss accommodations, though compliance is not guaranteed. Consuming raw or undercooked meat, fish, or animal products may increase foodborne illness risk. Slo' Motion BBQ is not liable for allergic reactions. Contact orders@slomotionbbq.com for severe allergies.
- Custom Menu Upcharges: Special dietary requests (e.g., vegan, gluten-free) incur a $100/hour chef surcharge plus ingredient costs. Requests require 14 days' notice and written agreement. No allergen-free guarantee.
- Liability: Host holds Slo' Motion BBQ harmless from liability for foodborne illness or allergic reactions from non-provided food/beverages. We maintain liability insurance and comply with health, safety, and vendor regulations.
- Hold Harmless Clause: Host indemnifies Slo' Motion BBQ, its employees, and affiliates from claims, damages, or liabilities (e.g., foodborne illness, allergic reactions) from Host-provided appetizers. We are not responsible for their quality, safety, or storage.
- Responsibility of Food Portioning: For pickup and delivery of catering orders where staff from Slo' Motion BBQ do not serve guests, the Host is responsible for ensuring proper portioning of food amounts is conducted. For events where Slo Motion BBQ staff serve the Host's guests we are responsible to ensure that food is available for all guests. While we do our best to predict types of food people will eat most based on analytics we can run out of Chicken over Pulled Pork as an example. It is best to have guests pre order food where applicable. We will always ensure each guest receives food if we are serving them. Of note, you know your eaters and you demographics of how your event is being managed better than we do. If you need additional food or want to ensure guests can eat more than once please let us know so we can suggest a strategy and adjust food quantities.
Weather and Venue-Related Contingencies
- Weather Cancellations: If canceled after food preparation begins due to weather (e.g., rain, storms), deposits/payments are non-refundable. If canceled before preparation, a deposit credit is issued within 14 days for use within 6 months, subject to availability.
- Venue Cancellations/Restrictions: Slo' Motion BBQ is not liable for venue or third-party cancellations/restrictions. If canceled after preparation, deposits/payments are non-refundable. If before preparation, a deposit credit is issued within 14 days.
- Rescheduling: For weather or venue issues, we'll reschedule within 6 months, subject to a $150 fee and ingredient cost adjustments.
Media
- Slo' Motion BBQ may capture photo/video content at events for marketing at no cost to the Host. Host consents to use and social media tagging unless opting out in writing at booking via orders@slomotionbbq.com.
4. General Terms
- Liability: Slo' Motion BBQ is not liable for issues from customer-provided items or undisclosed dietary restrictions. We maintain liability insurance and adhere to regulations.
- Dispute Resolution: Disputes are resolved through mediation in Waukesha County, WI, before legal action, per Wisconsin law.
- Changes to Terms: We may update these Terms, posted at slomotionbbq.com/terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
